Upon arrival in Cairo, you will be greeted by your knowledgeable guide who will accompany you throughout the day. Your first stop is the world-renowned Egyptian Museum, a treasure trove of ancient Egyptian artifacts. Here, you’ll explore over 120,000 exhibits that span 5,000 years of Egypt's rich history. The museum’s most famous attraction is the collection of items from the tomb of King Tutankhamun, including his iconic gold mask, chariots, and the priceless treasures that were buried with him. You will also have the opportunity to view ancient mummies, sarcophagi, statues, and intricate jewelry that provide a fascinating insight into the lives of pharaohs and the afterlife in ancient Egypt.
After your visit to the museum, you’ll head to the Giza Pyramids—one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and a must-see for anyone visiting Egypt. These towering structures, built around 4,500 years ago, are the tombs of the Pharaohs Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. The Great Pyramid of Giza, also known as the Pyramid of Khufu, is the largest and most famous of the three, originally standing at 146 meters (480 feet) tall. You’ll have time to marvel at these awe-inspiring structures, take plenty of photos, and even venture closer to the Sphinx, the mythical half-human, half-lion statue that guards the pyramids.
Following your visit to the pyramids, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, where you can taste traditional Egyptian dishes like koshari e.g (a hearty mix of rice, pasta, and lentils), falafel, or grilled kebabs, offering you a real taste of local cuisine.
After lunch, you’ll have a bit of time for some shopping. Your guide will take you to a specially selected shop where you can purchase Egyptian alabaster artifacts, beautifully crafted gold jewelry, and luxurious perfumes made from local oils and essences. These items make for wonderful souvenirs to remember your trip.
By the afternoon, it’s time to head back to to Hurghada. You’ll arrive in Hurghada by evening, with plenty of time to relax after a fulfilling day of exploring the wonders of Cairo.
